줄거리 : 이애마는 과실치사로 복역중인 남편 신현우를 2년째 매주 면회를 간다. 남편의 외도로 괴로웠던 애마는 주위의 권고에도 이혼을 결심하지 못한다. 면회를 다니다가 미술학도 김동엽을 만나 진실함을 느낀다. 어느날 애마는 같은 아파트의 옛 애인 김문오를 만나 불륜의 정사를 갖는다. 하지만 변태적인 김문오의 행위를 견디지 못하고 동엽을 만나 순수한 사랑을 나눈다. 현우는 이혼을 제기하는데 시골집에 있던 애마에게 동엽이 찾아와 프랑스로 갈 것을 약속한다. 그러나 약속한 그날 현우가 특사로 출감하고 동엽에게로 가던 애마는 부부의 굴레에 묶여 현우를 마중한다.

SYNOPSIS : Lee Ae-ma 's husband, Shin Hyun-wu, is in jail for involuntary homicide. For the past two years, Ae-ma has visited her husband every week. Though she is anguished by Hyun-wu's affairs, Ae-ma is unable to divorce him even though everyone thinks she should. While visiting her husband, Ae-ma meets Kim Dong-yub, a student of art, and feels his sincerity. One day, Ae-ma runs into an old boyfriend, Kim Mun-ho, who lives in the same apartment complex. They engage in an affair. However, Ae-ma is unable to bear the perverted sexual preferences of Mun-ho. She goes to Dong-yub and engages in a pure love. Hyun-wu asks for a divorce. When Ae-ma is in the country, Dong-yub comes to her and promises to take her to France. However, the day they are supposed to leave for France, Hyun-wu is released from jail on a special pardon. Though she was on her way to Dong-yub, Ae-ma finds herself greeting Hyun-wu, unable to free herself from the shackles of marriage.
